Dr. G Santhana Krishnan is a Sr.Principal Scientist in the Materials Science Division at CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories(CSIR-NAL), Bangalore. He obtained his Master of Science in Chemistry(1993) and Doctor of Philosophy in Polymer chemistry(2014) from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India. Earlier he had worked with Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation Limited (SPIC LTD), Fertilizer Complex, Tuticorin, India and Hydrochemistry Branch, Central Ground Water Authority(CGWA), Ministry of Water Resources, Govt of India, New Delhi. As a process engineer with M/s SPIC ltd, he was involved in the plant operation of Ammonia ( 1100 MTPD) and Sulphuric acid plants (750 MTPD). In his stint with CGWA, he contributed in establishing National Hydrographic Network Stations in peninsular states of India under World Bank sponsored National Hydrology Project. He joined CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories in 2001 as Scientist ‘C’. He was involved in the setting-up of integrated facilities for making aerospace-grade carbon fibres including Polymer, Carbonization, Effluent Treatment Plants and engineered polyacrylonitrile polymer development till 2013.
