Rajani,B.N.Dr
Area of Expertise
CFD for low speed turbulent flows
Research Interests
Turbulence and transition modelling, Large eddy simulation
Academic_Qualification
Ph.D in Mathematical and Computational Science. from NITK, Surthkal, Karnataka
Professional Experience
Worked as Research Assistant at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR), Hyderabad for 4 years in the area of for non-linear optimisation using random search techniques for chemical engineering problems
Currently chief scientist at CTFD division CSIR-NAL, Bangalore working in the area of numerical simulation of turbulent low speed internal and external flows using the in-house code 3D-PURLES and open source code SU2 and OpenFOAM.
In the 25 years of career as a Scientist played a major role in the development of the in-house incompressible code 3D-PURLES which has numerous turbulence/transition models and Large Eddy Simulation (LES) capability. This code has been used extensively at NAL for both internal and external flows simulations under various sponsored projects and in-house projects. Has expertise in handling transition flows encountered in Mirco Air Vehicles(MAV) and Regional Transport Aircraft(RTA)
