Research Interests

Development of high-strength carbon fibers from polymer precursors, Structural investigations of fibrous materials, Melt spinning/ Solution spinning of high tenacity fibers

Academic_Qualification

M.Tech Materials Science from IIT Bombay (2006-2008)
B.Tech Ceramics Technology from Anna University, Chennai (1996-2000)

Professional Experience

Experienced materials scientist with over 20 years of expertise in glass and advanced carbon fiber manufacturing, process development, and technology transfer. Began career at Samcor Glass, Kota, overseeing gas-fired furnace operations and raw material quality control for production of picture tube glass. Transitioned to CSIR - National Aerospace Laboratories, where I played a significant role in establishing and commissioning a pilot-scale integrated facility for standard modulus grade carbon fibers under an ADA-sponsored program.
Contributed to advancing intermediate modulus carbon fibers for aerospace applications via process and equipment modifications. Jointly led the technology transfer efforts to commercial manufacturers and a government agency, successfully securing CEMILAC certification for indigenous carbon fiber. As project leader on multiple sponsored programs, I aided process improvements and equipment innovations, enhancing carbon fiber strength and quality.
