Our Leaders

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), known for its cutting-edge R&D knowledge base in diverse S&T areas, is a contemporary R&D organization. CSIR has a dynamic network of 37 national laboratories, 39 outreach centers, 1 Innovation Complex, and three units with a pan-India presence. CSIR plays a vital role in providing technological intervention across various social sectors, including environment, health, drinking water, food, housing, energy, and farming. Its contribution to S&T human resource development is equally noteworthy.

The Prime Minister is always the President of CSIR. Presently, Shri Narendra Modi is the President of the CSIR. Minister for Science and Technology & Earth Sciences, Shri Jitendra Singh, is the Vice President of CSIR & Dr. N Kalaiselvi, Secretary DSIR & DG, CSIR, is Heading CSIR.

CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories is the largest laboratory under CSIR. CSIR-NAL is headed by Dr. Abhay A. Pashilkar, an outstanding scientist. Under his Leadership, CSIR aims to achieve greater heights in the Civil Aircraft and allied sectors.
