Ground Vibration Test Facility

Ground vibration testing is a process of experimental evaluation of modal parameters of an aircraft / aerospace structure. The modal parameters are: natural frequencies, modal damping and mode shapes. The main objectives are;

  • To build the structural modal model of the aircraft

  • Generate input data for GVT based flutter estimation and flutter clearance

  • Verification of the distribution of stiffness and mass; further helps to update the mathematical model for obtaining the aeroelastic characteristics

  • Identify the change in dynamic behaviour of a design modified aircraft
