C Rajashekar has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NITK, Formerly KREC, Surathkal). He joined NAL in the year 1990 and currently he is the Joint Head of the Propulsion Division. His main interests are in Experimental Research related to the Development of Advanced Combustors for Futuristic Air-Breathing Propulsion Systems, Pulsejet engines, Fluidic thrust vectoring, Combustion instabilities in gas turbine afterburners, Micro-thrusters and in the use of non-intrusive Flow visualization techniques like Schlieren, Shadowgraph, and High speed imaging.

 

He has also worked on flow phenomena studies in pulsejet engines and the development of a pulsejet engine under NAL’s Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) Programme, which has culminated with the successful flight of a 1.5 m span MAV. He has over 20 publications in National Conferences, and one International Conference paper, and several internal reports
