Graduated in 1988 and subsequently post graduated in 1989 from Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University, Chennai in Aeronautical Engineering. Initially served in the Department of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), for seven years, while ensuring airworthiness of aircraft during manufacture and maintenance by various organizations. Since 1999 serving in the CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories as Chief of Airworthiness for the HANSA-3, SARAS and CNM5 aircraft projects in ensuring design assurance, quality assurance and safety of flight in accordance with civil and military aviation regulations of DGCA and Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC).
Highly knowledgeable on the aviation regulations and procedures of India, Europe, United States and Australia on type certification of aircraft, engine and propeller; qualification of airborne equipment & software; and production, maintenance & operation of aircraft.
Established design assurance and production quality assurance system at CSIR-NAL and obtained Design Organisation Approval and Production Organisation Approval from the DGCA.
Qualified as Instructor to impart training on Design Organisation Approval, Production Organisation Approval, Aviation Maintenance Human Factors, Safety Management System and Civil Aviation Regulations.
