Lakshmi,R.V.Dr

Area of Expertise
Sol-gel chemistry, Thermal insulations coatings, Microwave absorbing materials, Superhydrophobic surfaces, High emissivity coatings
Research Interests
Her main research areas include sol-gel and polymer based coatings for various functional applications. She has immensely contributed for the development of sprayable radar absorbing paint suitable for X-band frequency range using indigenously synthesized nanomaterials. She has also developed thermal insulation coatings for protection against heat on aircraft surfaces. Currently, she is working on PDRC coatings for thermal comfort in buildings and conductive coatings for antistatic applications.
Academic_Qualification
Ph.D from Dept. of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru
Professional Experience
Working as Scientist at CSIR-NAL from 2008 on various projects of strategic importance. Was a part of an international collaborative project with DTU, Denmark to develop erosion resistant coating for Wind turbine blades. The Indo-Denmark project was pursued along with DTU Wind Energy and Danish Blade Service as partners from Denmark and NIWE (National Institute of Wind Energy), WiSH Energy Solutions, WindCare India Pvt. Ltd. and IIT Delhi, Department of Applied Mechanics as partners from India.
