Awards (A)


1(A) Will the team or teams which are judged to be meritorious be rewarded?

 

Not directly.  However, the U.S. Army, subject to the availability of funds, at its discretion and through their own contracting services, may award research grants to meritorious technical solutions.

2(A) What will be the process involved in the award of a research grant?

The prospective grantee will be invited to submit a research proposal for further development of the entry and upon receipt of the proposal an evaluation will be made as to whether the proposed effort merits an award.

3(A) Will the Intellectual Property Rights of the offeror of the proposal be respected by the U.S. Army?

Yes but with the proviso that the U.S. Army be allowed to use the developments emanating from the grant.

4(A) Are awards of multiple grants contemplated?

Yes.

5(A) What funds are available for issuance of research grants?

At this time, $600,000 is provided for in the budget for the award of grants.

6(A) Has a decision been made as to how the funds for the award of research grants be divided?

No; decision will be taken prior to the event but after it is ascertained what the total budget will be.
