Not directly. However, the U.S. Army, subject to the availability of funds, at its discretion and through their own contracting services, may award research grants to meritorious technical solutions. |
2(A) What will be the process involved in the award of a research grant? |
The prospective grantee will be invited to submit a research proposal for further development of the entry and upon receipt of the proposal an evaluation will be made as to whether the proposed effort merits an award. |
3(A) Will the Intellectual Property Rights of the offeror of the proposal be respected by the U.S. Army? |
Yes but with the proviso that the U.S. Army be allowed to use the developments emanating from the grant. |
4(A) Are awards of multiple grants contemplated? |
Yes. |
5(A) What funds are available for issuance of research grants? |
At this time, $600,000 is provided for in the budget for the award of grants. |
6(A) Has a decision been made as to how the funds for the award of research grants be divided? |
No; decision will be taken prior to the event but after it is ascertained what the total budget will be. |
